I have known of this weeks guest for a long time now. I have purchased a few of his records over the years. This weeks guest  has become a rising force in the bass music scene, earning recognition both as a curator and a DJ specializing in deep, soulful, liquid sounds of drum and bass.  She's a whole vibe and I really enjoyed this one. Right in time for summer.  She's a resident DJ at San Francisco’s Stamina Sundays and Denver’s Konkrete Jungle Mile High and is a family member of Heavy Traffic Radio & Recordings and regularly makes appearances on their long-running radio show on Sub.FM. I have known of this weeks  guest for a few years now. I didn't feel compelled to reach out to her until I learned that she once had her own public access television show in the 90's! I had to know more. I thought that was the coolest thing ever. It turns out, she is in fact awesome. Kathy is one of the pioneering figures of Texas drum & bass and underground electronic music culture. Based in Austin, she has spent more than three decades in the dance music community through music as a DJ, producer, promoter, and curator. This weeks guest is another pioneer in American Bass music culture. I first became aware of him during the beginning days of the internet.  Through the Phunckateck Crew: As a co-founder of this seminal San Francisco collective in 1996, he worked alongside early US jungle pioneers to establish the West Coast D&B scene. The raves looked legendary and his sets and mixtapes from this period were some of my favorite. Over the years I have had the good fortune to see him live a few times now and he ALWAYS rinses the place. Ed continues to push boundaries in all aspects of dance music. He has worked with and put out records with some the biggest names in the underground. No need to name drop. There are too many anyway.
